Parcours des Mondes
www.parcours-paris.eu/index/pages/id_page-33/lang-en/

Parcours des Mondes is the most important show of tribal art by quality and diversity of its participants. Since 2002, it gathers each year in Paris sixty galleries specializing in the arts of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. During the second week of September, German, American, British, Australian, Belgian, Canadian, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Swiss galleries join their colleagues in Paris permanently settled in the Fine Arts neighbourhood in St. Germain-des-Prés. This exceptional concentration of works and experts is an open-doors fair where visitors can mingle and wander through the streets of this historic district. Each gallery offers an intimate and personalized presentation of great masterpieces from Africa or Oceania, ethnographic works of more affordable price and other pieces sought after by collectors.

Brussels Non-European Art Fair
www.bruneaf.com

The idea of uniting a handful of primitive antique dealers to tie in with the inauguration of the Ambre gallery and offer the public the first “Non European Art Open Days” at the Sablon first saw the light of day in 1983. The Brussels Non European Art Fair has become one of the leading events displaying non-European art, covering fields as diverse as African, Oceanian, Indonesian, pre-Columbian, Asiatic and Australian Aboriginal art. Sculptures, masks, fetishes, weaponry, jewellery, coins, fabrics, traditional objects executed by ethnic groups according to their own particular customs and worked in wood, metal, gold, silver, bronze, ivory or terra cotta - the objects on exhibit are ritual or domestic artefacts, combining shape with ornamental design. Although the form always meets practical requirements, it is also testimony of a certain vision of the world. Objets d’art from Africa, Indian or Tibet thus draw on the wealth of the myths which form the collective memory, respecting the aesthetic and symbolic standards of tradition and following in the footsteps of the traditional crafts used by their ancestors.

CINOA
www.cinoa.org/

The CINOA Charter defines fine art dealers uncompromisingly as follows: ‘A fine art dealer, member of a national association affiliated to CINOA, is not only a merchant but also a consultant, who is required to respect the rules of his association. He serves a cultural mission by distributing objects of art which he identifies through experience. The relations with his clientele are based on confidence and mutual trust. He is obliged to give his clients correct information concerning the date, the artist and the state of preservation of the objects he sells.’ It is a principal belief of the federation that through trading fairly across international boundaries, sharing knowledge and developing greater expertise in a growing number of varied specialist areas not only members but all parties can benefit from the exchanges of experience, art and ultimately culture.

Brussels Art Square
www.brusselsartsquare.com

The ASBL Brussels Art Square was created in 2005 by five leading Belgian antique dealers with the aim of protecting and promoting the international reputation of the Place des Sablons and its surrounding streets as a unique art and antiques district in the city. This perception has suffered somewhat in recent years as more and more commercial and retail outlets have moved into the area. Until now, the association's remit has consisted primarily of organising an annual invitation-only gala evening. This site has been created both to make our activities better known to a wider public and to give our members an additional forum to publicise their projects and events. For the first time this year, beside dealers specializing in 20th century art and thanks to a co-operation with the other three art dealers associations on the Sablon, namely BRUNEAF, BAAF and BOAFair, we welcome reputed primitive art, Oriental art and antiquities dealers, offering a broad selection of what our art market has to offer.

Tribal Art Society
www.tribalartsociety.com/

In the last few years our profession has undergone many fundamental changes. The profusion of auctions, events such as art and antique fairs, and the internet have lead our clients away from visiting galleries on a regular basis. With this reality in mind, we have formed the Tribal Art Society, an online website that replicates the fine tribal art gallery experience. Our project involves a group of international dealers who share the same values- offering fine works of art for fair and realistic prices. The site is designed to make it easy for passionate collectors who cannot physically visit our individual venues to still participate in the buying experience. As the internet is now an integral component in most of our lives, this site perfectly compliments our contemporary approach to assessing and acquiring artworks.
